Snack-time |
The Daisy class is for children aged two and a half to three and a half. We provide a friendly, child-centred environment for our students’ physical and social development. At this age we aim to develop children’s self-confidence, independence, concentration, and the basic skills that underlie the more academic work they will do in the primary class. English is another focus of the class. Children learn naturally in an English-speaking environment, and especially enjoyEnglish songs and stories at circle time. Most importantly, our classroom is a friendly place in which children’s first experience of school will be a happy one. For the first hour and a half of the morning we have free activities. Children choose what they want to do themselves. At about 10 o’clock we have circle time. At circle time we all sit down together to sing songs, read a book, and learn about different things. At the moment, for example, we’re learning about new life, so this week we’ve been talking about and planting seeds. After circle time we have a snack of crackers and fruit. Then we go to the playground or the indoor playroom until lunchtime. At lunchtime the children all sit down to eat together, and clean up when they have finished. In the afternoon we have free activities again, then circle time, snack time and playtime. |
