The Bambi Room

The children in our classroom range from one to two and a half years of age. Our main objective is to provide a safe and warm environment for a smooth transition into their first school experience. The main point to remember here is that this environment is intended only as an aid to the child’s self development, self confidence, independence, concentration and basic skills they will need when they go to the Pre-primary class.

In our room we use Montessori materials. One subject is Practical Life, this develops basic personal and social sills which are essential for this age group. Another area is represented by Sensorial activities, which serve to enhance and enlarge the child’s perception of sense in the world.

The daily routine is a very important stage of each young child’s development, which is known as the sensitive period for order. For children from one to two years this routine includes: free activities, circle time, snack, and play time.

The children in our room enjoy participating in the special classes, cooking, music, art and movement.

The young child has a unique and extremely powerful capacity for learning skills such as language and we benefit to this by teaching them English songs and stories.
